Charon TerrorDrake Missileship | |
Brief History of the TerrorDrake Missileship Commanded by Roy "the Major" Cayden, a former Commonwealth Militia officer famous for his speech in St. Kathrine in front of millions of people just before he deserted: "...the Corporate is taking everything for us, and while they live in luxury in their Neolinen suits, people in the slums are starving..." His leadership transformed the weakest faction of the pirates to the most fearsome ravagers of the systems between Eridani and St. Kathrine: the Charon Pirates. The legend says that nobody that have seen the light of the eyes of the huge metallic skull mounted in front of his Drake Missileship has survived... More infos in the included readme.txt NOTE: The ship appears only when the Charon fortress is destroyed. To do so I have to override the Charon Fortress. |

Excellent, Digdug. I love the detail; reminds me of the "Hell's Angels" motorcyle gang....
Drakes always struck me as semicylinders or (since we can't see what's below)possibly full cylinders, not little slightly curved flat things.
This strikes me as somewhere between neat and extremely corny. :P
well, I wanted en effect like : "..and now something completely different!" :D
I've always thought they were somewhat curved but still on the flat-ish side atarlost... XD
Hmm. That may be the case. And here I'd thought they were actually rationally designed. They look like a 60 degree arc, maybe as much as 90. This ship looks like 30 at most. This frankly does not look big enough to carry off the cargo from a wrecked large freighter.
Its amazing how much your impression of a ship changes when you see it from a different perspective, isn't it? That said, no one actually sees the big picture for the ship in the game, and in most game-ship renderings, you can't really see what the ship is made of very well. Viewing things from a near top-down perspective has a way of not letting you see much depth.
Incidentally, that is the kind of feedback that makes me not want to create ships for existing sovereigns.
I think it'll be visible from the "south" facings. It is certainly flatter than the original drake based on the lack of shading on the curved plate. It's not a lighting thing because the skull and forward wing are if anything more shaded than similar shapes on George's ships.
guys, this is basically my first attempted ship, it took me a month to build the draw the model, and I already had the reference (the Drake). I did my best to make it a resemblance of the Drake. I'll try to tweak the materials and illumination, maybe I'll get a better ship.
I think it's awesome digdug, great job!
I'd love to use it as a playership!
(*insert evil laugh here*)
